FAQs

Q. What is the ‘tick’ symbol and GECA stand for?
A. The endorsement ‘tick’ symbol that has the words ‘Environmental Choice Australia’ is the logo of GECA – Good Environmental Choice Australia. This independent organisation endorsers various products to meet stringent international standards and allow those products that ‘pass’ to use their logo. Click here for more information. All our ‘Orange Power’ products with this symbol on them have passed this standard.

Q. Why don’t all ‘Orange Power’ products have this ‘GECA’ tick of approval then?
A. Unfortunately, the standards for products like our Air Fresheners and Furniture Polish’s have not yet been developed to the point where we can be assessed. We can assure you though, that all ‘Orange Power’ products are made with the same strict environmental guidelines that we use on all our range.

Q. Why isn’t the Super Brightening 4X Laundry Liquid ‘GECA’ accredited?
A. The International Standard ISO14024 has determined that an ingredient referred to as ‘Optical Brightening Agents’ OBA (see below for further explanation) do not meet the strict guidelines for use. Unfortunately nearly all Laundry Liquids (and Powders) contain these agents to help make whites look ‘whiter’ or less yellow to the naked eye. We decided to give our customers the choice – if you want the accredited version, use our ‘Sensitive Skin’ variant, as it does not have any OBA’s in it. These OBA’s are really only effective on Whites, so only use the ‘Super Brightening’ variant on your ‘white’ loads.

Q. What are Optical Brightening Agents (OBA)?
A. OBA’s are dyes that absorb light in the ultraviolet region and re-emit light in the ‘blue’ region. This makes fabric look less yellow by increasing the overall amount of blue light reflected.

Q. Where can I buy your products? I used to be able to get it at my local supermarket but now cannot find it.
A. You can purchase all “Orange Power” products through leading supermarkets Australia wide. Click here to find out more. Unfortunately, not all supermarkets stock all our lines. If you used to get it a particular store but cannot now see it, ask for either the STORE Manager or MERCHANDISE manager, and ask them to order some in for you. If this doesn’t work call their head office, as only support from consumers (especially for Australian products) will keep these products on supermarket shelves.

Q. Are refills available for all the 750mL trigger packs?
A. The only refill pack we have been able to supply independent supermarkets is our Shower, Bath & Tile cleaner. We do also produce a 5Ltr Shower and 4Ltr Multi Purpose ‘Bulk Packs’ but are only available via On-Line distributors. Click here to find out more. If we can convince the large supermarkets to stock refill packs, they will be available.

Q. Some of your products seem more expensive than other cleaners?
A. Our pack size for all our ‘Greener Cleaners’ is 750mL, 50% larger than most of our opposition who are in 500mL bottles. If you do the ‘math’s’ you will find, based on Recommended Retail Pricing that we are actually less expensive than nearly all of these competitors. Click here to see differences.

Q. Which of your 750mL cleaning products would you recommend for general cleaning of benches, walls, floors etc?
A. Our ‘Multi Purpose Cleaner’ is the most universal product in our range for all sorts of cleaning applications (always follow direction). If however you already have our 'Carpet & Upholstery spot cleaner' then this also good for general use on clothing and hard surfaces.

Q. How are your Cleaning products different – they all appear the same?
A. All our products are quite different and are specially formulated to perform each advertised task efficiently and economically, with the least impact on the environment. Whilst there is some ‘overlap’ between some formula’s (e.g. Carpet and Prewash cleaners) best results are achieved by following directions.

Q. Are your products safe for my septic system?
A. As none of our products use Bleach, Ammonia's or Caustics etc they are quite safe for septic's and 'Biocycles etc. They are also readily biodegradable.

Q. Are there other Air Freshener fragrances available?
A. We have recently introduced a new “LEMON MYRTLE” fragrance variation using natural Australian Oils. This is in the same 125mL pack size but in a yellow bottle to contrast with our orange and green bottles. Only available at Coles/Bi-Lo and independent supermarkets at this stage.

Q. Are your products tested on Animals?
A. None of our products have ever and will never be tested on animals.
