Good things do come in small packages
Orange Power’s new 4x Concentrate Natural
Enzyme Liquid more than lives up to its small, yet powerful reputation.
Just over one Tablespoon will wash a full load of laundry. You’ll
save over 50% on leading brands and get 20 washes from our easy-pour
500mL bottle. That's mighty good value.
However, it’s the environmental benefits
that really makes our new laundry liquid special. It has one of
the lowest formulas for phosphorus and sodium and is completely
garden safe. It also contains the least amount of water that’s
ever been put into a laundry liquid making it almost entirely composed
of pure product. That means less water is used in its manufacture
and a higher concentrate, in fact 4x, of liquid to power through
the toughest stains. It does this by using a “World First”
combination of natural soap technology and new liquid enzymes. The
bottle, and cap, we’ve put our laundry liquid in is also completely
recyclable and we’ve even put a cutting mark along the side
to remind you to remove the wrapper before disposing of the container.
Orange Power’s new 4x Concentrate Natural
Enzyme Liquid proves that good things do come in small packages.
Greywater
With the recent drought conditions, which seem
set to plague Australia for years to come, many homeowners are now
using their laundry and bath water on their gardens and landscaped
areas, which is a great idea as long as the Greywater is safe! How
will you know? Well, starting with laundry liquids that are low
in phosphorus, sodium and classified “garden safe” is
your best bet. Regardless of whether you have a top or front loading
washing machine, either of which can use Orange Power’s new
4x Concentrate Natural Enzyme Liquid, thousands of litres of water
are used each year and sent down the drain. Harvesting your Greywater
and using it on your garden is the ideal way to use this water,
and our laundry liquid makes it easy.

and liquids, visit www.lanfaxlabs.com.au

FAQs
What is the difference between the two products?
The orange label and cap has a fresh, laundry fragrance
while the green label and cap is “Fragrance Free”
– which is particularly good if you’re sensitive to
fragrances and perfumes.
Are enzymes safe for the environment?
Yes – the vegetable-based enzymes used in
our laundry liquid are completely biodegradable and are actually
‘consumed’ before the end of the wash cycle. They offer
the following benefits:
• Better cleaning performance
• Shorter washing times
• Reduced energy consumption by lowering wash temperatures
• Reduced water consumption through higher cleaning efficiency
• Minimal environmental impact because enzymes are biodegradable
How is phosphorus damaging to the environment?
There are two common labels used by manufacturers
to identify the amount of phosphorus in their products. The
"NP" symbol denotes that there has been “no
added phosphorus” to the product, although minor
amounts may be present in the various ingredients they use.
The "P" symbol meets industry guidelines of less than
7.8 g per wash and should be avoided.
Phosphorus is an essential plant and animal nutrient
- a non-renewable resource that needs to be considered in light
of its disposal. When discharging treated wastewater to rivers
(as is typical of many municipal treatment works), the phosphorus
has known environmental consequences that may lead to the deterioration
of the water body.
Orange Power’s laundry liquid has “NO
ADDED PHOSPHORUS” and is measured at significantly
lower levels than other leading brands
What is the impact of sodium in laundry liquids?
The impact of sodium on plants is relative to its
concentration, with plant production decreasing with increasing
sodicity until such concentrations in the soil permit only the most
tolerant species to survive. At what level of sodicity of
the Greywater (used washing machine water or other effluent) is
a question that can only be considered in relation to soil properties
and the vegetation type. Suffice to say that the lower the
sodicity, the less risk there is to detrimental plant or soil effects.
As with other components measured in water of a
quality equivalent to very clean rainwater, the effect of adding
these laundry products is cumulative and using an environmentally-responsible
laundry liquid is paramount.
How does high pH affect clothes and Greywater?
The pH of the liquid laundry products, when mixed
with the recommended dose of water, should be within an acceptable
range for biological systems between 5-9pH. Products which create
a pH above 9 should be avoided. Not only are they damaging to soils
but they also break down fabric which can shorten the life of your
clothes.
Orange Power's wash water is effectively neutral.
Can I use my laundry's Greywater on my garden?
Yes - but remember to follow common guidelines
when using any Greywater. We've listed a few of those here:
1. Choose laundry detergents with low phosphorus, sodium and pH
like 'Orange Power'.
2. Take care to avoid watering the same spot - it can affect soil
and cause plants to die; move the water around.
3. Be careful when using Greywater on native plants and don't use
on edible parts of vegetables or fruits.
4. Make sure it doesn't enter swimming pools or flow into neighbouring
properties.
5. Avoid ponding, bad smells or damage to plants by restricting
use or moving the outlet around to different locations.
6. Keep Greywater away from children's play areas.
7. In drought conditions it is desirable to occasionally water with
fresh potable water.
